Croxsons Relocates to New Offices
The leading glass packaging supplier, Croxsons, which celebrated its 150th-anniversary last year, has moved into the refurbished old post office building on Grove Road, Sutton, South London. The investment has turned a once near-derelict site into a future-ready, purpose-built workspace, providing an engaging environment for the whole Croxsons’ team.
Designed and project led by Windsor-based interior design consultancy, Blue Jelly, the new office is the culmination of a five-year plan. With an emphasis on ideation, the premises has been created to promote creative discussions and be inspirational, with the inclusion of a bespoke bar allowing customers to imagine how their brand will look in context.
Ardagh Glass Packaging Makes Embossed Mason Jars for Newell
Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America collaborated with Newell Brands, the maker of Ball home canning jars, to design and manufacture the Honeybee Keepsake Mason Jars. The jars feature an embossed bee and honeycomb, created to highlight the vital importance of pollinators in growing the foods people love to preserve.
“The Ball Honeybee Keepsake Jars celebrate honeybees and the pivotal role they play in the pollination process, which has a profound impact on our canning community across the globe,” said Julien McCluney, VP of Global Brand Management, Kitchen, Newell Brand. “We are thrilled to launch/announce this collector's edition canning jar and can't wait to see how our consumers put them to use.”
ASEAN Glass Conference set for Nha Trang, Vietnam
The Vietnam Glass Association (Vieglass) has announced that the 45th ASEAN Glass Conference will take place in Nha Trang, Vietnam on the 25-29 September 2023.
With Glass Worldwide as exclusive official journal, the conference will be staged in Vietnam for the third time since in its launch in 1977 following successful events in Hanoi in 2012 and Da Nang in 2017. Leading personalities from the region’s hollow and flat glass communities will come together to join their international suppliers in benefitting from technical sessions as well as a social programme aimed at strengthening business networking and collaboration.
Rail trials put Encirc on track to create ultra-sustainable distribution network
Leading glass container manufacturer Encirc has successfully completed trials of rail transport of finished bottles using the railhead at its Elton, Cheshire site. The successful trial period represents a significant step in the company's ambition to create the most sustainable national drinks supply chain in the UK.
Emissions from distribution, part of Scope 3 emissions under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, contribute significantly to the carbon footprint of container glass. While these emissions can often be considered ‘out of reach’ of efforts to decarbonise, Encirc has identified rail distribution as a potential solution to reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Ardagh Glass Packaging partners with Sprecher Brewing Company to supply locally made glass beer and beverage bottles
Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP – North America), a business of Ardagh Group, announced a supply agreement with Sprecher Brewing Company to continue to manufacture all of their glass beer and beverage bottles, including their recently redesigned custom 16oz glass bottle.
Utilising the Vision4GlassSM approach, the Sprecher Brewing Company team collaborated directly with AGP – North America’s product design team to refresh their custom glass bottle. Using a sculptured embossing process, Ardagh was able to bring the true spirit and feel of family with an updated and enlarged embossed shoulder decoration of the family name.
