Gerresheimer Annual General Meeting Backs Growth Course

The Annual General Meeting of Gerresheimer has expressed its confidence in the Management Board and Supervisory Board with regard to the growth course embarked on by the company, recording high approval rates for all agenda items. The company is paying its shareholders a dividend of €1.25 for the 2022 financial year. At the same time, the AGM approved the creation of new authorized and conditional capital, giving Gerresheimer the option to be flexible when financing its planned further growth. CEO Dietmar Siemssen reaffirmed the company’s forecast, with revenues and adjusted EBITDA expected to grow organically by at least 10%.

GCA Recycling Detectives Education Project

The "GCA Recycling Detectives Primary School Education Project", has been implemented in partnership with GCA and ÇEVKO Foundation. Their pilot project started in Kütahya Ağaçköy Primary School for third to sixth graders. Face-to-face training is provided within the scope of the project, which aims to raise awareness of the students about the environment and packaging waste from a young age. In the project raw materials used in glass production and recyclable wastes were introduced to the students and recycling booklets were given as gifts.

The world’s biggest glass companies have reaffirmed their commitment to reduce carbon emissions through continued support of Glass Futures as it opens the doors to its 165,000ft2 Global Centre of Glass Excellence.

Encirc, Guardian Glass, O-I Glass and Siemens were the ‘founding members’ of the not-for-profit when the idea of the Global Centre of Excellence was first conceived by Dave Dalton, CEO of British Glass. They each invested in a powerful idea which has since attracted major government innovation funding and seen construction completion of the £54 million Centre in St Helens.

Mike Losinger joins as Director, Forming Operations – Food and Spirits with 25 years of manufacturing experience.

Pat McGuire is taking on the role of Director, Forming Operations – Beer and Beverage, having gained a wealth of experience over his 30+ years in different positions and locations within AGP.

Mark O’Toole is returning to AGP as Director, Forming Operations – Wine, having previously worked at the company for a 21-year period in various roles and locations.

Mr Losinger, Mr McGuire and Mr O’Toole will be responsible for maximizing efficiency through automation, materials science and innovation for forming operations within the respective manufacturing facilities.

FunGlass Grand Opening Ceremony

A ceremony was held on 24th May to celebrate the Grand Opening of renovated FunGlass premises with new scientific research infrastructure that were obtained from structural funds and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The ceremony was attended by people from the academic community, as well as representatives of local government and industry. Speeches were delivered by the rector of the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín Jozef Habánik, the chairman of the self-governing region Jaroslav Baška, the Mayor of the City of Trenčín Richard Rybníček and by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini from Institute of Biomaterials University of Erlangen – Nuremberg.
