Stoelzle Achieves Third Consecutive EcoVadis Gold
Stoelzle Glass Group has once again secured the prestigious EcoVadis Gold status, marking the third consecutive year of this esteemed achievement. This is an important recognition of the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and highlights the significant strides we have made over the past years.
According to the rigorous EcoVadis Methodology, which aligns with international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000, Stoelzle Glass Group now stands proudly among the top 5% of all assessed Glass Manufacturers by EcoVadis.
Birgit Schalk, CSR & Decarbonisation Manager of Stoelzle Glass Group, emphasises, “This award not only underscores our commitment to decarbonisation and environmental protection but also highlights our objectives and initiatives in the realms of occupational safety and a sustainable supply chain.”
A noteworthy achievement in 2023 is the official acceptance of Stoelzle's group-wide science-based decarbonisation targets by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The company’s ambitious goals include a 50% reduction in absolute GHG emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030 and a 15% reduction in absolute GHG emissions (Scope 3) from a 2019 base year. Key aspects of the Group's decarbonisation roadmap include substantial projects such as a batch preheater, an electric feeder, and the installation of photovoltaic panels. Looking ahead, the implementation of an organic Rankine Cycle is slated for completion in 2024.
