NSG Group Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of Rossford Plant

The Rossford community joined together to celebrate glass making in the town.

The community of Rossford was founded by glass pioneer Edward Ford, who named the city Rossford by combining his last name with that of his wife, Caroline Ross. From its beginnings in 1898 as a new “company town” focused on glass making to today, Rossford has been known as a community that families and businesses have proudly called home. From Libbey-Owens-Ford to Pilkington to NSG Group today.

A host of events took place for the culmination of the 2023 celebration of Rossford’s 125th Anniversary and NSG Group was a proud sponsor for such a momentous occasion. The afternoon of Friday, July 28, featured tours of our Rossford plant. That night was the official grand opening at the Rossford High School. The following day’s events included the 125th Anniversary Parade in the morning and concluded with a very special 125th Anniversary Riverfest Celebration that evening.

David Imbrogno, Rossford Plant Manager: “The story of the City of Rossford and our company have been intertwined for 125 years and we were happy to be celebrate that history with the community and our past and present employees. It is a fabulous story about Edward Ford’s vision to build a glass plant in 1898 on 173 acres of land on the banks of the Maumee River and that the plant is still thriving 125 years later. It is also incredible to think the glass produced in Rossford is now used in automotive and architectural applications in every corner of the world.
