Luxury Cut Glass Series from Toyo-Sasaki Glass

Cut glass is said to have come across from Europe to Japan in early 19th century, when local craftsmen became fascinated by its technique and unique design. It became a part of Japanese culture, called Kiriko: Kiri means “cut” and Ko meaning “powder” expressing the glass shaving from craftsmen using the abrasive wheel. Edo Kiriko from castle town of Tokyo, and Satsuma Kiriko from Kagoshima, are the representatives of Japanese traditional Kiriko Glass. Edo Kiriko has strong contrast between coloured and clear glass layer, on the other hand Satsuma Kiriko tends to have soft gradation with using thicker layer of coloured glass.

Tracing down the traditional Kiriko glass, Toyo Sasaki cut glass series have unique, classic yet modern design to fit your daily dining scenes. Popular among dining professionals in hotel, bar and restaurants with comfortable shape and a wide size ranges, and foremost its durability.
