2023 Glass Manufacturing Excellence Award

The GMIC Glass manufacturing Excellence Award winner will be presented at the Glass Problems Conference in Colombus, Ohio.

The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council is launching the first of several new awards that celebrate both individual and organizational achievement in the glass industry. The 2023 Glass Manufacturing Excellence Award will recognize individuals who are making significant contributions on the shop floor within their company.

Nominees must be actively working at a GMIC member company and should meet one or more of the following criteria: demonstrated success in improving factory or operational performance; success in deploying new technology into operations; acts as a role model for others in a factory or operational environment; mentors and trains the next generation; shows tremendous potential for growth within the industry; or are passionate and dedicated to advancing glass.

Applicants can self-nominate or be nominated by their member company with a limit of one self-nomination per entry. There is a limit of ten nominations from a member company. Whether self or company nominated, nominees must provide a summary of how they strive to embody one or more of the award criteria (200 words max). Applications must include a letter of support from a supervisor or mentor describing the nominee’s contributions and how they embody one or more of the award criteria. (300 words max).

Entry deadline is 29 September and recipients will be notified by 6 October. Nominees who are not selected this year will remain in consideration for the award until 2025.

Award Recipients will receive complimentary admission to the 2023 Glass Problems Conference in Columbus, Ohio, a special award and recognition at the conference and a 3-5 minute video highlighting the recipient’s achievements at their company.
